My observations on OCtranspo Buses and O-Train: Attention OCTranspo (in Ottawa Ontario Canada) – Please beware that O-Trains Line 1 doors are not aligning properly with the markings on the platform, I noticed this frequently at many stops on different days of week. Recently it was observed twice (on 04/24/2023 and once few days before) on OCTranspo bus that people behind me entering the bus appear to be very impatient or under some kind of a pressure that they put their fare card on the machine before I complete my transaction which disrupts my transaction at the fare machine. It happened twice. Few days ago at the Hurdman Station on route 97 in the evening perhaps around 19h00 and on 04/24/2023 on bus route #6 towards Billings Bridge around 19h00.

1) Observation about Bus Route 10 in the morning of 04/30/2023 at the Lyon Station. The bus route at the Lyon stop did show up at the schedule time across from the Delta Hotel (bound for Hurdman). Perhaps somebody dy was holding the in the adjacent street at the point of arrival from Hurdman. For departure from Lyon it makes a turn on Lyon St. Display was showing weather the bus was late or not, rather it was showing time for the next bus departure. There were few other people waiting for the third s bus as well. After turning onto the Lyon street driver attempted to drive away with our stopping to pickup the passengers, so I waived to stop the bus. I would suggest that when a bus is late the display should show how many minutes the bus will be late etc. instead showing the time for the next departure. It is very misleading. So when a bus was unable to show up at the stop with in the allocated time slot, instead of changing the time on display to next schedule, first OCTranspo should fulfill the late bus slot by displaying how many minutes the bus will be late. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of schedules, if it was just random arrivals and departures.

2) Observation about Bus route 57 in the evening of 04/30/2023 at Tunney’s Pasture station. Stop B departures. Mostly same as above when I left from the stop and walked away bus showed up as if sone one was holding the bus. There was a group of kids (young adults) who were talking on the phone, perhaps they were involved, not sure. I turned around from far and saw the bus boarding the passengers at the stop B, I quickly turned around and walked back towards the bus, when I waived at the bus to stop, driver of the bus did not stop. It was a rainy night. Display was showing departure for the next bus instead of showing how many minutes bus will be delayed. Again I find it very misleading. So when a bus was unable to show up at the stop with in the allocated time slot, instead changing the time on display to next schedule, first OCTranspo should fulfill the late bus slot by displaying how many minutes the bus will be late. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of schedules, if it was just random arrivals and departures.

OCTranspo Bus route 55 at Catherine St/Bay stop across from the 370 Catherine St. More than one time I have experienced that the bus never arrives at the scheduled times, I come out of the building expecting the bus to arrive at a specific time, but the bus does not arrive at the time, I wait for few minutes like five minutes or so, look far away to the Bank street to see if there was any bus heading towards the stop where I was waiting, when I don’t see the bus, I walk away to Bronson St. But I keep checking by pausing and turning my head to see if there was a bus coming. Most of the time bus comes and passes by me when I was in between two stops, the previous stop where I was waiting and the next stop on the way to Bronson. This is again like as if some one was controlling the bus when I was around and waiting, just to make me walk in the rain or with out rain. Why ??

This behaviour is very strange. Why they do this. ??

It was partial O-Train closure for the weekend on 04/30/2023.

Misc Observations and experiences not related to OCTranspo.

Other three random incidents on 04/30/2023 in Ottawa 1) as I opened the door of the McDonald’s restaurant location 5179 (between 10h45 and 11h00 a tall boy and a short girl hiding her face behind his back came out of the door, the boy said mischievously “Thank you” with a strange glee on his face, as they were trying to rush through the open door while was I holding the door from outside, I responded to his “Thank you” saying that I was not his door opener. 2) A unknown man with some kind of a dirty, re-tarted and very old dress, getup (disguise) entered the McDonald’s at fifth street on Bank and said something to me “are you driving a taxi” or something similar, at first I ignored it, he said the same thing few times, I was busy updating my postings, I replied to his baseless question with a hypothetical answer to shut him up and to discourage him from further false association socialization. He was talking on the phone as well to get a taxi and was negotiating a rate for it for a destination which was not too far from the mcDonald’s. Few minutes later I left without finishing my cup of coffee. I was not wearing a cabbi’s cap so why would he assume that to ask me such a baseless question. There were so many other people, why would he ask me such a question. 3) After about half an hour of this incident while I was documenting about location 5179 after getting off the bus route #6, near the entrance of Rideau Centre without going indoors, my phone was picking up some wifi signals, I man came close to me and disrupted my thoughts by asking for something, I loudly told him something and pointed him a direction to go to where he could get some help, perhaps was new in the city. After that I walked away to the Shelter for the night
