TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN/INTEREST
Emergency Housing shelter programs should not be owned operated and managed by the new comers or new immigrants or illegals (because they do not know the system very well and do not under stand the system, logic and wisdom behind shelters). People from different segment of the society who are in a different category like middle class or financially well off people should be behind these emergency housing shelters otherwise people who seek shelter in difficulty will not be looked after and the purpose of using shelters will fail because shelters operators appear to be doing the same what was done by others outside the shelter and which leads people to shelters. Underprivileged people are not suitable to offer shelter services. People at higher moral and society status should be involved in shelter services. New comers, illegals might operate these shelters as money making ventures instead of non-profit charitues. There should be some supervision and audit on such shelters to ensure that they meet certain standards. Standards should be provided to them. Front line staff and management of these shelters should meet certain standards and requirements, they should be well trained social workers to analyze, understand and make it easy for the people using shelters instead of making it worse. It should not be about making life degrade step by step, rather it should making life better step by step. Punishing people based on wrong information or to play Robin hood, or to protect/cover up wrong doings of higher ups / influential gangsters should be stopped.
Shelter at 94 York Blvd was not providing me meals either. I have no other source of money, I have no social assistance, No ODSP, no one is helping me to go back to my work overseas. Is there any organization who can talk to me to find a solution. What is behind this kind if treatment. One of the shelter intake worker was investing the reason why I was in search of a shelter bed and asked me about the event of June 19, asked me if I had any document from the landlord. I was given a intent to rent in April 2017 for OW social assistance, receipts etc.. There is a lesson for all the tenants in it that at the time of renting or in the beginning of the tenancy landlords or rent revivers do not follow the legal procedures but at the end of tenancy after many years when things go wrong they all ask for legal proof/evidence from the rent revivers/land lord but rent revivers do not follow legal procedure during tensncy. Authorities should look into these fraudulent practices.
