What is meant by a suspended Social Insurance Number (S.I.N) ?? and what difference would it make if so – if any one could explain –

I am asking this question based on a phone call I received in the morning on December 02 of 2019. I made efforts to find relevant government department to find the answer, went to local MPs office, visited Service Canada office to find the answer. Apparently means nothing.

If so, how can people make phone calls with such worthless information. Why government is not tracking such people. Govt should stop such people from spreading wrong information.

Something to think about.

(Note: The only situation I can think of, does not apply to me, is Social Insurance Numbers issued to refugees, temporary workers or non-status people which have a expiry date, need to be renewed and start with 9 or some other specific number. Does Not apply to me.)
